Double Tree Hilton Hotel Set To Boost i-City\'s Theme Park
I-Berhad's four-star Double Tree by Hilton i-City Hotel, with an estimated gross development value of RM200 million, will further boost i-City's theme park once it is opened in 2018.

Deputy Chairman Datuk Eu Hong Chew said the 300-room accommodation would complement i-City's first hotel, the three-star Best Western i-City, which began its operation last year.

"The Double Tree is part of the RM1 billion investment property portfolio of the 28.8-hectare i-City ultrapolis," he said at the hotel ground-breaking ceremony here today.

Tourism and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz officiated the event.

Mohamed Nazri said the ministry would provide the necessary assistance to ensure all tourism facilities in the i-City ultrapolis would be completed as scheduled.

Talking to the reporters later, Mohamed Nazri said the ministry aimed to draw some 30.5 million tourist arrivals this year with an estimated revenue of RM103 billion.

Last year, Malaysia recorded 25.7 million tourist arrivals that contributed RM69.5 billion to the country's coffer.
