The Rio City Interchange has opened, making it easier to get to Bandar Puteri Puchong
The newly-opened Rio City Interchange, an RM90 million community project by IOI Properties Group Bhd is expected to improve access and traffic flow to the Bandar Puteri Puchong township.

The 2.35-kilometer interchange, located in front of IOI Galleria @ Puchong at the intersection of Lebuh Puteri and Persiaran Puteri, took five and a half years to complete.

Despite handing over the infrastructure to the authorities, it was developed in two phases by the property group as an investment to build sustainable communities.

The first phase of infrastructure works at Lebuh Puteri took place from August 2016 to September 2019. It included the construction of a flyover connecting Lebuhraya Damansara Puchong (LDP) to Lebuh Puteri Puchong in order to improve connectivity to Bandar Puteri Puchong.

The second phase took place from February to April 2022. It entailed building a dedicated underpass for direct access into IOI Rio, an additional 80-meter-long underpass beneath Rio City Interchange, and a pedestrian bridge connecting The Cube's commercial area to Rio City.

IOI Properties also constructed a 35-metre covered pedestrian bridge and walkway connecting the Puchong Financial Corporate Centre and the Taman Perindustrian Puchong LRT Station.

Today marked the official opening of the Rio City Interchange.

Datuk Voon Tin Yow, chief executive officer of IOI Properties, hoped that the Rio City Interchange would reduce traffic congestion by up to 90 per cent while also accommodating the increased population in Bandar Puteri Puchong in the future.
