KUANTAN: The newly launched online property auction platform e-Lelong for court auctions will improve transparency and the effectiveness of the existing bidding process.
Chief Justice Tan Sri Md Raus Sharif said through the new system, details of the bidders will not be revealed and the bidders will no longer be required to be present at court to make their bids.
He said the current manual process deployed at the 15 High Courts in Peninsular Malaysia required a lot of manpower and the process was complicated, necessitating long hours.
“The pilot project at the Kuantan court complex is to test the system and if it encounters any glitches. Once everything runs smoothly, then the system will be expanded to other states in Peninsular Malaysia.
“Bidders can now register online and once their name is approved by the deputy registrar in charge at the e-Lelong operation centre, then the bidder will have access to details on court auctions of immovable properties,” he told reporters after launching the e-Lelong system at the Kuantan court complex today.
