Sentul Low-Cost Housing Project To Be Ready In 34 Months
"KUALA LUMPUR, May 9 (Bernama) - The Sentul low-cost housing project abandoned over 20 years ago will be completed within 34 months at a price of RM42,000 per unit.

Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Mansor said the project would put up 250 squatter families in the area relocated to public housing schemes in Bukit Jalil and Jinjang Utara.

""As a caring government, we are concerned about the people's welfare and are always trying to solve their problems,"" he said at the ground-breaking ceremony of the project here, Saturday.

Also present were Federal Territories Deputy Minister Datuk Dr Loga Bala Mohan and YTL Land & Development Bhd and Sentul Raya Sdn Bhd chairman Datuk Suleiman Abdul Manan.

The housing project was delayed for more than 20 years following the issue of relocating the squatters and temples on the site of the project.

Meanwhile, Suleiman said the low cost housing project is part of the Sentul Urban Renewal Project, a joint venture project between Sentul Raya Sdn Bhd and Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL).

The project is based on a planned and strategic development near Sentul Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) to provide basic facilities and create a safe and comfortable residential area.
