Sarawak To Introduce Online System To Facilitate Housing Developers
"SIBU, April 7 (Bernama) -- The Sarawak Housing Ministry will introduce an online system to facilitate housing developers in compliance with the Housing Development (Control and Licensing) Ordinance 2013 and Regulation 2015.

The system, which will be ready for operation in the second quarter of this year, is to ease the renewal of license and expedite the approval of the developers' application for sale and advertisement permit.

Sarawak Housing Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg said, it would also issue online reminders or notices to developers for them to comply with the statutory requirements of the ordinance and regulation.

""There should not be any excuse of not knowing when to submit project progress reports as the developers will be alerted earlier on the submission deadline for them to abide to,"" he said.

His text was read by Assistant Housing Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah at the opening of a seminar on Housing Development (Control and Licensing) Ordinance 2013 and Regulation 2015 here today.

The seminar was the last of four series held throughout the state by the ministry and Sarawak Housing and Real Estate Developers Association (Sheda).

""The online system will promote good liasing between the ministry and the developers,"" said Abdul Karim when met by reporters later.

Sheda has 200 developers and 50 affiliated and associate members which represents more than 50 per cent of the total number of developers in Sarawak.
