Smoother traffic flow can be expected along Jalan Tun Razak from tomorrow

KUALA LUMPUR: Smoother traffic flow can be expected during peak hours along Jalan Tun Razak beginning tomorrow, due to the implementation of a traffic dispersal system by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) starting tonight.
DBKL Civil Engineering and Urban Transportation Department deputy director Sabudin Mohd Salleh said the system could reduce Jalan Tun Razak's congestion caused by high volume of vehicles coming from secondary roads.
Among the final task to be completed tonight is to install road dividers along Jalan Pekeliling Lama, as motorists from the Pahang Roundabout and Jalan Pekeliling Lama can only take the exit to Jalan Ipoh/Jalan Tun Razak.
"Road users who are heading towards the Sultan Iskandar Highway have to use the traffic light junction at Jalan Ipoh as they no longer have to take the flyover near Jalan Pekeliling," he told Bernama today.
DBKL had previously announced that a number of routes in the Jalan Tun Razak will be changed starting from today with the implementation of the traffic dispersal system in effort to reduce the perennial traffic congestion in the area.
Meanwile, Bernama found several exits along Jalan Tun Razak had undergone some changes.
It included the Jalan U-Thant slip road in front of the Embassy of the United States where vehicles passing through that road cannot use it to head towards Jalan Tun Razak anymore, as DBKL has installed road dividers to block the motorists from entering it.
