Bathrooms are the one place in the home where one can really relax and have the utmost privacy. This is why it is important not only for bathrooms to be clean, but be impressive as well.

A luxurious bathroom will no doubt contribute to that privileged feel even though it is the smallest room in the house. The bathrooms in Malaysia is often fused with the toilet and this is a very normal design in Malaysia.

Here are some ways you can transform your boring and dated looking bathroom into an impressive luxurious looking space, impressing your guests and allowing yourself a classy haven:

Lay down some marble tiles that come in either grey, white or brown. Of course real marble tiles would be the best. However, if it is too costly for your budget, tiles with a printed marble design works as well, but don’t look as natural as the real thing.

Install carved wooden doors to the entrance of your bathroom and pair this with a bronze doorknob for an added antique vintage effect.

Add texture to the walls of your bathroom with dark tiles that feature rough textures. Textured walls are becoming increasingly popular and they’re relatively easier to clean.

Install a waterfall or rainfall showerhead as this is the latest innovation in achieving a fulfilling showering experience. Usually these showerheads are metallic and lends a futuristic appear to your bathroom.

Use a glass divider to section off your showering area or bath area from the toilet and sink area. Glass dividers are really easy to clean and don’t cost much.

Install large mirrors to small bathrooms to make them look more spacious. If you want, you can line an entire wall above the sink area with mirrors. Alternatively, if you have a small sink area, consider a gilded mirror with a metallic frame. Additionally, several small mirrors arranged artistically will do the trick as well.

Add striped patterns of paint to your bathroom and this will make it look longer and therefore more spacious. Choose stripes made of alternatively dark and light colours like black and grey for an art nouveau effect.

Consider wallpaper for portions of the bathroom wall that won’t get wet often. Patterns can range from fun and rustic, to modern artsy designs. It’s all up to you. Of course, wallpaper should be matched to other parts that are either painted or panelled.

Wood panelling either a portion of the bathroom floor and a part of the wall is one way to give your bathroom a warm rustic environment.

Add rugs or carpets to the drier part of your bathroom that is clearly partitioned off from the shower or bath tub. Choose rugs or carpets designed to dry easily ad are easy to clean.
